Having many law enforcement friends and family, they are trained to not take any chances when someone obvious has no fear of dying. Shoot him in the leg? That's cool, what if he's packing a small firearm that he decides to get out while he's writhing around on the ground?

One of the training videos for the state police of Connecticut is of this exact scenario and why you don't take chances. Ultimately, it is up to the police officer, but they advise you not to. The video is of an officer who shot a man in the leg that was wielding a baseball bat. When the officer approached, he was shot in the face with a small firearm the man had holstered on his ankle.

When you have someone like this man in the video that does not care about his life, he sure as fuck doesn't give a fuck about yours. At this point, this man feels he has nothing else to lose. It's best to just take the fucker out before anyone gets hurt.

I believe you would feel different if it was your loved one that was shot multiple times .
that is some ones son , brother, uncle ,or husband , who obviously was in dire need of psychiatric help.
I understand the officers fear , but they are there to protect the public and serve the public ( help the public) its not like the guy just raped and killed little girls , he was in need of help.

That's what happens when you resist. The cop was pretty reasonable in the beginning from what I seen, he asked many time to put the weapon down. He isn't going to risk his life for a guy with a knife, people are too unpredictable.

I wonder what a "good distance" is Lol If an officer says many times to put the weapon down, seems like probable cause to shoot.
Also, contrary to popular belief it is quite difficult to shoot someone in the leg exactly.

Fuck this mother fucker, he was warned numerous times to put the fucking knives down. Shoot him in the legs, nope - he was warned, the cop even said "I will shoot you". I would have done the same thing. When it comes down to ME or HIM, I choose ME every fucking time.

bullshit, the guy knew and understood english, all he had to do was set the knives down, is that too much to ask? The cop is also a father, uncle, brother, or relative to someone and he gave fair warning - this was justified.
