The cop had plenty of other options. Put it this way, would you call the cops if someone you loved was having a meltdown? Or do you not understand that people you love can suffer from mental illness? It will force people to handle these situations on their own for fear of calling the cops for "help". The cops are poorly trained.

No need for me to even type anything here, this is the straight up truth. If you advance towards somebody with a knife/knives you should expect to be shot. He was warned multiple times, this was plainly suicide by cop.

Cops need better training. This cop is a moron.

Its just a bad idea when you know a person is suicidal, to go in with a gun. Especially without even trying to talk him down.

I mean, maybe try telling him something like, "you're not in trouble, I just need you to sign some papers and I'll leave "or something besides, come give me your insurance.

I think it's extremely stupid to walk in at that high tension moment. What does it hurt to stay outside and give him a little time and try a conversation.

I don't blame the cop for shooting, the guy was approaching with a knife. I do blame the cop for being a dumbass and creating the situation where he had to shoot.

It appears this cops mindset is, hey, nobody is killing themselves here, if anything, I'm killing you.
