There's the use of force continuum... Then there's gung ho yee haws shooting a man in the back, after sicking an attack dog on him, then shooting said man with shotgun bean bags.

If we're using ufc why didn't they use a pistol to the centre body of mass?, why not a tazer?, why the fuck a stun grenade? this looks like a military style execution done by police..., no wonder lots of people are afraid of cops there

There's 1 of 2 ways the police are going to get you, and that's willingly or unwillingly. If they say "drop the knife" 2000 times and you choose to stand there like an idiot for hours on end, you're probably eventually going to be shot. On top of that, he verbally announced he was going to kill one of the officers during the standoff...if it were you, would you think he was just joking?

He might not have gotten out of the situation, but he surely could have seriously injured or killed 1 officer before being taken down. Would you want to be that 1 officer? Sounds like you're volunteering.

I served 5 years in the military, trained in multiple urban and close quarters tactics, i've been in some hairy situations, I knew what my SOP's were and even trained/worked alongside a Special Emergency Response Team (or SWAT as you yanks say) police officer in my unit who was reserve military, whom would condemn this a horrible example of the polices use of force.

Ive seen you spouting off how some people on these forums are "clueless" or unknowable, and quite frankly that shits me off.

This situation was WAY over the top and could have very easily been handled in a much more professional manner.

You have all this experience, yet you said:

So, a handgun round to center mass is somehow considered less than lethal now? You're either using lethal for or you aren't, it doesn't matter if they shot him with 9mm handguns or a .50 cal Barrett.

Well i'm damn well sure a single shot from a handgun would be a hell of a lot less lethal than multiple 5.56mm rounds and then icing on the cake being beanbag rounds from a shotgun AND a police attack dog. I also said why not utilize a tazer?, there is many more options these police could have used instead of proving they're nothing but gung ho and crazy about pulling the trigger any chance they get.

I saw what you said, I went straight to the armchair comment because what you stated beforehand just makes your trigger finger look itchy, i'd assess my situation much more efficiently, sure they told him multiple times, sure he didn't reply, he may have threatened them, but hell they had assault weapons and a dog there. UFC means JUST THAT, use of force continuum, moving a step above your threat, not "hey we're a decent 15 feet away and he's got a knife, we have assault rifles... fuck it, blow him away", he posed no threat when they opened fire also.
