Re: Peter Smedley Assisted Suicide

we are kinder to our pets than we are to our family, why should we have to suffer painful, terminal illnesses with the inevitable outcome of a painful death ? we should DEFINITELY have the choice of ending the pain & suffering & not by having to drink a fowl tasting concoction but a painless lethal injection administerd by a proper doctor at a chosen location & time, surrounded by our nearest & dearest loved ones,,,,why the hell not ????

Re: Peter Smedley Assisted Suicide

I watched this program and i felt so sorry for his lovely wife who was left behind. I just thought that he may have died in her arms hugging after being together for 40 years, Was very sad and moving but i do think its everybodys right to how they want to end there time in this life. Anyone who takes there own life is to me very brave, I dont think anyone can just do it. Takes a lot of courage.

Re: Peter Smedley Assisted Suicide

Sad doesn't even begin to describe this, he and his wife have been together for more than 40 years, imagine the pain his wife must have been feeling during the whole thing, she is a strong strong woman indeed.

Re: Peter Smedley Assisted Suicide

I think it's a very humane thing to do. I mean, if the poor victim has no chance at ever getting better, and they're in constant pain, even with pain medication, or if they have no quality of life, then the only humane thing to do would be to euphanize them. I can't understand the intellect that since they are humans, they should suffer. No one is born to be "human". We hafta be raised to be human. Otherwise, we are as feral as any other creature on the face of this earth. It's society that places such foolish rules on our heads, and who the hell ever said that society knows best? In fact, down throughout history, society has proven to be rather self-defeating and ignorant. Not a voice I like to listen to, a lot. Oh, and NEVER while I'm sober!
