Re: Peter Smedley Assisted Suicide
God created man and God takes his life. We can not agree on euthanasia. This killing of life given to us. Us use this life as best we can, euthanasia is not an option. This man could live for many years, unfortunately depression killed him. And no person has not helped him. Sorry for my english.

Re: Peter Smedley Assisted Suicide
Lived for many years in pain and unable to function properly, he needed help just to walk. We are born with our own minds to make our own decisions and if we don't want to continue our lives through pain and suffering then we should be able to choose to end that life. As for god i'm not going into that discussion. |

Re: Peter Smedley Assisted Suicide
Brave?! What is heroic about sitting on a couch, drinking poison and letting your wife watching you sucking your last breaths?! Im not trying to be one of those coward weirdos who post a cold blooded comment to get some attention. But I think by calling someone who commites suicide a brave person you are just degrading the value of the word. I know some people who survived deadly diseases by fighting them for years. I'm sure if they were given the chance to kill themselves when the pain was at its worst they wouldn't say no to the offer. Yes in this video they chose a sick old man to give the impression that all those who are given the opportunity are helpless people with no future. But is that it in many cases? Though someone actually died in this video but in my opinion the whole thing was staged. |

Re: Peter Smedley Assisted Suicide
i watched the documentary i was crying through most of it Terry said something which personally was so poignant "everyone loses their car keys but not everyone loses their cars" this was in response to his own Alzeimers which my Grandmother had. The people who decide to end their lives have to be of sound mind at the time of their decision, a decision is NEVER taken lightly, i believe around 21% of people want to end their lives at Dignitas through feeling life is not worth living the other percentages are through illnesses. My partner took his own life through mental health issues but i am pro assisted suicide as i believe we as human beings should be given the right to choose |
