crazy that is the exact same spot. its wild, even when I drive around here in Croatia the amount of people and even old people who just take their time walking across a major street is wild. they do the exact same thing as the lady and guy did, first couple steps are fast then the last couple they just slow down because they know you wont hit them. |

I'm thinking that her thoughts were that once she was off of the track, she was safe. Didn't account for the train being wider than the actual tracks.

Where were her loved ones? Her neighbors? Her community? In far too many corners of society, the elderly are brushed aside, their struggles unseen—especially those suffering from cognitive challenges like dementia, Alzheimer’s, or other mental impairments. These are the people most likely to wander into danger, their judgment clouded through no fault of their own. It’s high time we recognize that elders with cognitive difficulties aren’t merely “old.” They’re vulnerable—and they deserve care, supervision, and protection from tragedies just like this. Barriers, horns, and traffic lights are tools, but human compassion remains the greatest safeguard of all.  |
