In Camaragibe, Pernambuco state, Brazil, 23-year-old rideshare biker Thiago F.B. was shot dead by a 50-year-old off-duty Military Police officer, Venilson C.d.S.

According to reports, Venilson, who had just been taken to his residence, had refused to pay a fee of 6.98 Brazilian reals (USD$1.15). This led to an argument, with Thiago complaining about Venilson's attitude. Shortly afterwards, Venilson took out his gun and killed Thiago.

Venilson entered his residence, changed his shirt, and went on a bus in an attempt to flee. However, locals recognised him as the shooter - they took to attacking the bus and smashing the windows in an attempt to force Venilson out. When he did so, he was almost immediately beaten up by the locals. The locals then held a protest, burning tyres and debris on one of the main roads in the city.

Venilson was taken to hospital. His health condition is unknown, but he has been charged with homicide. A .38 revolver was seized from his possession.

We we know his fellow officers have a meal waiting for him and some donuts and stuff and probably even that about he'll get two weeks paid vacation , why the poor families victim is less struggling to pay for funeral causes after their innocent loved one got murdered.

The Pernambuco State Secretariat of Social Defense, the governmental body responsible for public safety and law enforcement in the state of Pernambuco, issued a statement condemning the officer’s actions.

They described the killing as “barbaric and unacceptable” and confirmed that an administrative process is underway to potentially remove Venilson from the military police force.

The Court reported that the PM will be sent to the Pernambuco Military Police Reeducation Center (CREED). He has already undergone a custody hearing this Monday (2), which converted his arrest into a preventive arrest.
