Re: Off-Duty LA Deputy Shot Dead at Golf Course After Pointing Gun at Police
Those shots in the grass were from patrol rifles positioned to the left (out of frame) and sighted in for 50 yards with red dot sights. At closer distances the bullet will drop up to several inches from center. Shooting while standing at 15-20 feet from a target that is low to the ground will lower a perfectly scoped shot by 4-6 inches but impacts the ground 2-3 feet in front of the target. That's why there were several .223 rounds hitting the grass several feet from the suspect. The riflemen needed to compensate by bringing their sight alignment up approximately 4-6 inches above center, which they apparently did with subsequent shots. Not uncommon given this particular scenario. |

Re: Off-Duty LA Deputy Shot Dead at Golf Course After Pointing Gun at Police
Police miss an average of 80% of the shots they take. But I didn't think they missed this wide. Absolutely pathetic display. I could do better while crossfaded on alcohol, weed, and dxm. Terrible combination.
