I, for one, never rely on the crosswalk semaphore, or wait for the white 'WALK' light within it—EVER; its the last thing I do—and most of the time, I don't. —First, I look for cops, then all vehicle positioning around the intersection, then the opposing-traffic overhead lights (to make sure they're turned 'red' and traffic has indeed stopped and no one is about to run a red light), then vehicles about to make 90-degree right- or left-lane turn, potentially crossing my path from an angle; last, but not least, I thoroughly scour the skies for airplanes, drones, Chinese hot-air balloons and any loose UAPs (formerly UFOs), along with any deprecated, igneous satellite debris. (Whatever you do, please do not attempt to implement this protocol in reverse.    )

elderlky people shoudl not be walking the streets thank auto makers for making huge tracks where it's near impossible to see in front of you. thank auto makers and govts for making such dangerous streets instead of widespread public transit like in europe and other countries. How did old man know this truck woudl turn right? This could've happened to any of us. Only fault is the driver who should've looked before turning right. I always do. |

fortunately newer cars have front avoidance systemsso would've stopped. I guess this work truck is old or trucks aren't required to have them. my mitsu would've slammed on the brakes. |
