Re: New Mexico Cops Going to Wrong Address and Fatally Shooting Homeowner
Especially if you raise it up in a firing position and point out directly at the closest police officer. That was the DUMBEST thing he could have done. If he would have kept it at his side, he MIGHT have been okay. Then again, most cops are so trigger happy and love to scream out contradictory orders all at the same time from different directions, it probably wouldn't have mattered. Fucking 2023 and this "wrong address" shit still happens. |

Re: New Mexico Cops Going to Wrong Address and Fatally Shooting Homeowner
Tactically, never answer your door for any reason. I don't care if someone identifies as police, that doesn't mean shit to me until I see further proof. Just wait in the house with your muzzle raised and call 911. Say "there are men claiming to be cops and I want to confirm the situation." The cops fucked up on this one. The homeowner dindu nuffin but it was not a good idea to show his firearm immediately although he is within his rights. If I answer the door I always have a pistol at my side but you won't see it as it is unnecessary to show it unless I plan to use it; by then it's too late. I've had three different people at three different apartments over years who accidentally walked into my apartment because they were temporarily brain dead for whatever reason, one of those being just a child. They were all lucky I have enough snap to assess a situation properly instead of just immediately blasting. I hope this family gets a big settlement. If the cops were at the correct house I might give them more credit.

Re: New Mexico Cops Going to Wrong Address and Fatally Shooting Homeowner
The biggest problem is you can have anybody banging on your door claiming to be police. Idc what you identify yourself as! Unless I see other proof you are an intruder! And from what I saw I during the shootings none of the police lights were on. Idk why cops insist on these stealth tactics |

Re: New Mexico Cops Going to Wrong Address and Fatally Shooting Homeowner
Could say the same for the cops who didn't belong there. Trespassing and threatening deadly force with weapons drawn. Sooner or later its going to be armored autonomous weapons and cops are going to start losing badly when this happens. |
