I'm without a doubt pro-law enforcement. That being said.. this is absolute bullshit on so many levels.

How tf are other LE officers going to sit idly by while it's very apparent this dude is fading? Fired should be the least of their worries. Prison time 100% inbound. This is/was murder. Unbelievable...

And if I'm not mistaken (which I very much could be) I thought that restraint by putting the knee on the neck was outlawed? Either way, complete and total BS.

You think for a -second- that if this was a middle-aged white guy that cop was going to flat-out murder him in front of everyone? No. Because that actually pretty much never happens. So when push came to shove, piggie said to himself in his little pig brain, "Fuck it, it's just some jungle bunny passing bad bills. No one's gonna give a shit if I lean on him as hard as I want." I don't think he was looking to kill the guy. The guy's life just meant nothing to him and I believe that was largely due to race, as I strongly suspect piggie's behavior would have been different if the perp was white.

The race issue that people keep bringing up is not necessarily racist killer-cops. But institutionalized racism devaluing the lives of black men to such a degree that the pigs barely even register them as human when it comes to how to treat them.

I disagree. It is much less reported though. It's not "sensational" news when a white cop ducks up a white guy. News agencies are grasping at whatever they can.. and this generates viewers.

Kelly Thomas is a perfect example of that and then some. His dad was a retired detective as well. I'm not going to do a bu much of google-fu to prove my point further, but the statistics speak for themselves.

This arrest/murder was super fucked up, no doubt. But it can and does happen to whites just as often. There are bad apples at any company. My .02

I appreciate your response and the level tone you employed. But I still disagree. Cops murdering an unarmed man in front of witnesses is ALWAYS sensational. Doesn't matter what race, the media is gonna be on that shit like white on rice. And while tragic crimes like the murder under color of authority of Kelly Thomas do occur, I still maintain that they are markedly rarer than such crimes being perpetrated by Blue against Black.

I don't have data at hand to back that up. But I disagree strongly enough with your assertion that the media would willfully under-report Blue against White murders because they aren't 'sensational' enough that I felt the need to respond. Lethal brutality by power-tripping cops is always sensational. If it were happening more often to Whites, media would be jumping on that shit too.

It's not sensational to report white on white crime... or even black on white crime tbh. News/media will report what provokes the most emotion.

The only time you should have your knee on someone is when your trying to cuff them. After they're cuffed you stand up and put them in the car. There's no reason it should take that long after they've been cuffed.

I’m white - and I’m absolutely appalled by what those “police” did. The man was telling them “I can’t breathe”.....his life was snuffed out by a lowlife piece of crap.

If the people that were telling him to get off his neck had tried to physically intervene, I’m sure that they were going to be shot.
