Re: Minnesota Man Dies In Custody
Sir, you're making it sound as if somehow it is the victim's fault that he ended up dead—it is not. The full responsibility for his hideous murder and death rests solely upon the shoulders and conscience (if he possesess one) of Mr.Chauvin. And why would you call the deceased a "stupid idiot?" The poor man is gone now, and like the moderator said so well—none of what he did or not do prior to his being fully restrained, warranted a de facto execution. And frankly, I thought the two officers visible in the first video came across as truly sadistic—especially the killer. |

Re: Minnesota Man Dies In Custody
And even if there was a "struggle," (where is the evidence?) what does that have to do with what was done to him after he was already fully restrained and completely immobilized? Can you possibly be that dumb?

Re: Minnesota Man Dies In Custody
I do agree with what you wrote, and those are my aspirations also. I have seen the videos you spoke of too, but if you allow me a slight non sequitur... it is wrong for anyone to paint all police wilth the same brush—without law enforcement, the country would devolve into a state of complete anarchy, along the lines of what the rioters have been doing—and even much, much worse. The fact of the matter is that the wheels of justice were turning as-designed—the killer was fired, charged and will face consequences. In America, we have agencies and mechanisms via which victim's/plaintiffs can address occurrences of hate crimes and civil rights violations—in criminal, civil and federal courts. As such, I see no justification at all in the rioters' terroristic actions. There were those amongst the rioters who killed and injured innocent people and blameless officers—who had nothing to do with what the 4 cops did that fateful day. Violence only begets more violence, and what the rioters did is revenge, not seeking justice. They have done a disservice do their plight and legitimate grievance of the protesters. In any case, for whatever is worth, only a person with a heart of stone could withhold have compassion for another person begging for his breath. Watching that video was absolutely heart-wrenching. I think the poor man might possibly have voided his bladder in either fear or in death, and that just brought tears to my eyes. I personally think Chauvin is certifiably nuts—a psychopath, to be exact. |

Re: Minnesota Man Dies In Custody
Don't you find it that calling other people "subhuman" is a bit of a slippery slope, to say the least? Hasn't that road been walked before, to disastrous and genocidal consequences? Furthermore, in your mind, being "fed up" somehow should cavalierly segue into open murder? What the fuck is wrong with you, man? And to add offense to injury, another human being's murder is "shit happens"—according to you? We can all be assholes at times, but sure as hell you're a callous one at that. |

Re: Minnesota Man Dies In Custody
I do agree with you ....mostly. I don't think anyone is fighting for or protesting to have no laws. No one is asking for that. You said the wheels of justice were working........you seem intelligent and thoughtful.......but how can you believe this? Part of your wheels of justice were the 4 men killing this man. And no......of course i don't believe all cops are bad.......no one is saying that......Your wheels of justice allowed two white men to kill an innocent black man in broad daylight. These men weren't taken into custody right away......meh....they meant well so you know what the local law enforcement said .....lets not let anyone know. The wheels of justice that you speak of are NOT on the side of black people......it's running them over day after day and enough is enough..... The looters.......yeah.....they're all idiots.....is anyone defending their actions? You don't wan't people to judge all cops as bad because of the actions of a few.......well the same logic applies. I do thank you though.......i don't feel attacked at all and I feel like this conversation is respectful and important. |

Re: Minnesota Man Dies In Custody
I hope you're joking/being sarcastic!? Collective guilt is an abhorrent idea and should be repudiated with great prejudice. Wiping a whole group of people "off the planet" is genocide and an atrocity. The vast majority of police officers—as is the case with most groups of people—are decent human beings who do their best in a tough job and perform as the trained professionals they are. Believe me, I have no soft spot for police, because I hate it when they scan plates for no reason and when they issue tickets for petty traffic violations—but it's important to be fair in one's assessment, wouldn't ya think? |

Re: Minnesota Man Dies In Custody
I value judicious reasoning above all things—with the exception of—yours truly, incidentally—my dick. May I remind you that none of those crimes, even if true, carry a sentence of... death. It is also, of no small consequence that no one appointed Mr.Chauvin judge, jury and executioner over this man; and even if he was a despicable person, as you say, and a criminal, the putative lynch mob punishment still does not fit the crimes. I have no sympathy for his purported criminality, for him serving time according to the law—but I do have sympathy for his death and the manner in which it came to pass. |
