Re: Men Treading Water in Ocean Hunted Down, Shot
IIRC, there were several videos like this circulating several years ago during the height of the Somali pirate crisis. Most, if not all of the videos, featured the Russian navy doing the shooting. Why shoot them rather than arrest them? At the time, a popular consensus was so that Russia didn't end up with a Guantanamo Bay of their own. Here's a graphic I made up for lulz during that time. |

Re: Men Treading Water in Ocean Hunted Down, Shot
It's a really good documentary. They did a real good job of finding out the truth behind the video, some really great investigative work starting from scratch, the grainy video itself. They identified the victims, not 100 percent, but based on testimony of relatives and co-workers, it is reasonable to conclude maybe 90 percent? Next episode this week, they are going to track down the captain of the fishing vessel responsible. |

They were not pirates though, they weren't even Somalian. They were most likely Pakistani fishermen in the wrong place at the wrong time, brutally gunned down by a Taiwanese fishing vessel crew.
