Didn't you see the speed at which he was pulled in? And the fact that he's bigger than the pipe. If it was just flowing water his whole friggin body wouldn't have been sucked up in a fraction of a second.

I think the vacuum theory still holds actually. Yes that small section where the pipe was cut open would relieve the vacuum however just past the opening, I think the rushing water would fill the space and in turn make a vacuum. Watching the slow motion you can see he lets go of the hammer and both hands go above the hole. His feet and legs then slip in, and because they are submerged they are subjected to the pressure, and he gets sucked in. I think. |
