I contributed this to the thread, but it's not showing up yet. An elephant trampled a man to death on Thursday, while he was apparently trying to feed it by the side of a road in Nakhon Ratchasima. Pol Capt A.P., deputy inspector of Mu Si police, said the incident occurred at 7.50am in front of the Jungle House Khaoyai resort near Thanarat Road in Pak Chong district. Police said the body of R.T., 55, a sanitation technical officer for the Nakhon Ratchasima City Municipality, had suffered multiple fractures and was found near a female elephant known locally as Cherry. Pol Col C.L., superintendent of Mu Si police, said R. had been on holiday with his wife and daughters. Police believe he was in his Toyota pickup and stopped to give the elephant some sugarcane after spotting it tied to a tree by the roadside. They think the elephant attacked him when he got too close. The mahout, P.Y., told police the 28-year-old elephant had never been aggressive before and had been taken to the resort each morning for years so tourists could have elephant rides. Yesterday, he said, he had left the elephant tied to a tree while he went to mow some grass nearby and only realised something was wrong when he saw people gathering near to where he had tethered the elephant. Now that I know the story I really hate this one. Guy on vacay stopped to give the ele a treat and was killed in a very painful way. That's some shit I would do.
