FFS... some of you can't read. This was not a trainer... it was a guy on vacation. Who saw an elephant "kept" by some other human being and foolishly chose to get too close to a 6-8,000 pound animal. And what the fuck would you suggest a bi-stander do to intervene? Scream "No! Bad elephant!"? Run up to an enraged creature who just fucked someone up? No thanks. lol

What an ignorant comment to make. If people didn't have the insane notion to keep these animals as captive slaves, perhaps deaths of these nature would be far more rare than they already are. I don't blame the animal at ALL for fucking this guy up. He was an idiot to randomly approach an elephant. And he/she was likely already miserable as a captive animal. Why not pass more laws about confining animals like this... or at least legislation making those that do responsible for what happens when they are in their "care". Humans have such a superiority complex over animals... unjustifiably so. Whether it be human, elephant, dog or cat... a life is a LIFE. Proper justice would be snatching one of this elephants keepers' relatives and chaining them to a tree to be enslaved for a while. Let's see how he feels about that. Even if this elephant weren't captive... common sense says you don't go approach any wild animal... let alone one that can kill you with a single blow with a big toe.
