Re: Man Stomped to Death by Elephant
Never do this with any random animal you don't know. You dont go inside bull pens either to feed them. When elephants get angry, they're among the most dangerous animals in the animal kingdom, they can easily pummel lions or even bears to death.

Re: Man Stomped to Death by Elephant
Wow I had no idea their trunks were so strong, i agree with the person that said the elephant was looking like Tyson in his prime lol. Definetly sucks for the guy but I hope they didnt hurt the elephant. Looks like a smaller elephant was close by too, makes me wonder if that, and the way he approached were factors for its behavior. |

Re: Man Stomped to Death by Elephant
Kind of off topic but I wanted to say this: The cabling infrastructure in some of these Countries in videos are terrifying looking. I watched a documentary recently where Thomas Edison realized hanging cables on poles is dangerous, messy, ugly, and too primitive to carry his stored energy and send it to a network of buildings as a luxury at first, but an incredible luxury that would quickly become normal. It was a big big problem in his mind, in 1882! He went and approached Wall Street brass and after showing his invention was fully functional in a flawless demo, he then prioritized convincing them to bury cables, bury pipelines, MAP THEM and maintain the maps and the systems could last much longer he said. He knew that would be an unbelievably expensive undertaking but that was why he approached Wall Street and not the "Podunk Union Sentinel" or some random congressman. They took his advice and did it. They began to bury that infrastructure on his word (which was immaculate). Look at the cabling in that video. Jesus Christmas that looks so dangerous and I've seen right here on this site that it is extremely dangerous. That infrastructure is so bad in these Countries. You have to wonder what the hell all of that even is. There's like 15 criss-crossing cables, some drooping to the ground, probably not working - but may be live. I always try to note those systems and that video is a great example of a complete & utter mess on their hands. And a dangerous one too. |

Re: Man Stomped to Death by Elephant
Just a quick addendum to my message: That whoooole documentary is totally amazing but I time-linked that youtube video so it'll cut to the chase. I do recommend the whole thing. I love that Physicist and presenter Jim Al-Kahlili. All his stuff is so direct and interesting for a lay audience interested in better understanding of science & physics stuff. It's the perfect level of detail, presented so beautifully in that doc. I recommend it highly. |
