Re: ~Man Stabs Wife For Filing For Divorce~
I don't think it's (only) that. You can see at around 0:38 that his knife slips through his hand, something that happens in a lot of stabbings. And in the process of doing that, this fucker slices up his hand. Good thing for him: besides the video in this case, a wound like this on the offender himself will often get you behind bars real quick because you leave DNA evidence with corresponding wounds on yourself. Not much to argue in court. Without flinching he picked up the knife and continued to stab her because he is in rage and under adrenaline, but as soon as that passes the pained and blood pouring from his hand probably helped realizing what he did. You can see at the end of the video, that he is covering the ground at his feet with blood from his hand(s). |

Re: ~Man Stabs Wife For Filing For Divorce~
Interesting thoughts. I don't know why the police haven't been trained in certain tactics. Best guess I would have on this is the police aren't trained (again, my guess) on certain techniques because some martial arts strategies are intended to neutralize with a single blow which can cause severe harm or death. With all the criticism the police face, I would think that would open them up to a hostile public wanting to know why less lethal methods were used initially. Again, MHO. In a street fight, there isn't the same concern about a progressive approach to subduing someone. You are also right that I've never been in a life threatening situation because the 2 encounters I've had in my 60+ years of life didn't turn into life changing encounters because I was fortunate enough to have prevented someone from choking me out then kicking me 60 times in the head. I hit fast and hit first and walked away. Was I dumb lucky? Yeah, maybe so, but we'll never know. A bit more background, I grew up in an area of town that was was littered with groups of bullies (we didn't call them gangs, yet), criminals and a lot of violence which spurred my interest in self defense in the first place. And I also agree if Mike Tyson and I were to go toe to toe, it wouldn't be a good day for me. I never said I was invincible or training guarantees a 100% positive outcome. Do I really need to point that out? My initial comments were regarding a video where it appeared the female had a several second opportunity to react. Had he jabbed her in the throat on the first try, you would have not read a comment from me because all the training in the world wouldn't mean dick. Peace. Have a great day and I appreciate the dialogue which I view and friendly |

This is the ridiculous statement you made and is what I was responding to. If you went toe to toe with Mike in his prime (or probably even now in his advanced age), you would most likely be even more helpless than the poor woman in this DR video. |

you just may be right about Tyson, I couldn't find any for him, but here's a few for your viewing pleasure. I would say these guys were pretty amped up, but that didn't help much. Would you agree? |

Re: ~Man Stabs Wife For Filing For Divorce~
ironmike - First, in my eyes, many of the athletes in this video could continue to fight despite the illegal kick, however choose to cease combat since it was an official fight with rules (and prize money on the line?). Second, these are terrible examples to prove your point. The entire premise is wrong, as the combatants in this video are equally matched or that's how it's supposed to be. That's why they feel each other out and are careful in their attack/defense strategies. Your modus operandi for women in this type of situation solely focuses on a groin shot. Lastly, these are trained combat athletes who know how to deliver an effective blow/kick. Your average Joe (or Karen) off the street won't have this level of training and may or may not be able to faze a determined attacker. I, personally, have had the misfortune of being kicked in the groin twice in my life. The first was bullying in high school and the second was my wife. Despite the extreme pain, I didn't drop to the floor unable to defend myself in either incident. In summary, I do advocate women aiming for the groin region as a last resort, but failing that, they should always try their best to run away and scream with all their might. |
