My deepest apologies for having a thought on this topic (sarcasm) and I'm sorry you were in an abusive relationship (sincere). Have a blessed day.

Re: ~Man Stabs Wife For Filing For Divorce~
He obviously never got a shot to the nuts. I've had years of martial arts training, so I'll politely tell anyone I'm speaking from those years of training. There are strikes that stop a person dead in their tracks: solar plexus, throat, groin and those moves are what we train as primary targets. I get that you can't train a person to not lose their shit in a conflict. Physical aspects can be taught. Mental aspects, not so much. Aside from bolstering confidence, each of us (including me) has a fight/flight threshold. We always tell trainees "turn and run" should be your primary reaction. Obviously, these skills don't amount to a hill of beans against a gun and against other weapons, your first strike has to be effective because it might be one chance you get. I don't address trolls and I'm not going to engage in name calling exchanges. Anyone wants to have civil conversation, let's keep going. If you can't, then have a nice day. |

Re: ~Man Stabs Wife For Filing For Divorce~
Your training and the advice you gave is confined to the ring or training arena. Perhaps, the individual you responded to has not received a direct groin kick, but likewise, your post does not indicate to me in any way that you’ve ever been in an actual fight for your life. Is law enforcement trained to go for groin shots when trying to get control of a situation? No, of course not. Why? As I mentioned, an individual under the influence of alcohol/drugs will likely *not* be deterred by a kick to the groin. Btw, have you ever been to a heavyweight boxing match live in-person? Keep fantasizing if you honestly think you (regardless of what “training” you’ve received) can stop one of the hardest hitting boxers in history (Mike Tyson) with a groin shot. |
