Re: Man Shot by Immigration & Customs Enforcement in MN, Jan 24

I think all the people on here arguing along the lines of “comply or die” and want to somehow blame this guy and people like him for his own death need to stop and think about what you are saying. The idea that doing as you are told will stop you getting shot dead is playing right into the hands of authoritarianism which no one wants. That’s Nazi level shit right there. Is that what you’re all angling for?

Faust. JFC.

Dude, if you want to share a video from the scene, fine, do that.

But whatever you posted was some ranting, rambling minor league influencer who is DEEPLY committed to the 'Trump Doctrine.'

There is zero purpose in sharing his opinion here. He's a ranting lunatic, deeply-dyed in the wool MAGAt who refers to anyone using a camera to film ICE as 'rioters', and not even remotely a credible source of news, information, or anything else of substance.

You're a site member here. I DGAF if you want to share your opinion here, that's fine.

But an unattributed cut/paste (I had to go source it myself since you didn't bother) of some fringe MAGA talking-head screaming blatantly white nationalist agendas over and over again is unwelcome here.

Put that shit in the Watercooler or in your fucking septic tank for all I care.

Share a video. Share a REMOTELY credible news story from a journalist. But cut/pasting some bush league Rush Limbaugh cosplayer giving his unsubstantiated opinions about what is happening in a video is pointless. Half the shit on HIS page is just reposted garbage screeds from some coked-up Lebanese podcaster who spends most of HIS time simping for Musk.

Do better. And stop spending your time sniffing around after these dipshit whackos. You're going to rot your fucking brain.
lol the video failed to upload calm down

But if it is indeed true that he was disarmed first, that would take the inappropriateness to a whole new level.

If someone can describe to me which video shows the disarming, I’d greatly appreciate it

You are here making comments but you have not watched the videos and are asking people to point out which video.

fuck off mate.

Re: Man Shot by Immigration & Customs Enforcement in MN, Jan 24

he brought a gun to an armed police presence. he interfered with their procedures, he fought with them to the extent he got pepper sprayed, then continued to resist while they went to the ground. found one gun on him, yelled gun, and he's still thrashing around. maybe one of them saw or thought they saw him reach, maybe they got caught up in the chaos and straight up murdered him and need to answer for it lawfully. but he played a part in his demise by being a dumb fuck. you have a legal right to carry like you have a legal right to free speech but yell fire in a crowded building and you can answer for it. discretion matters and his decision put him at risk of getting shot.
You keep repeating “he brought a gun” and “he resisted arrest” as if those phrases automatically justify what happened. “Resisting arrest” gets leaned on as a blanket excuse for killings even when what you are describing is a predictable fight-or-flight reaction.

He got pepper-sprayed and then tackled. From his perspective, six masked, armed men just sprayed him, rushed him, and piled on with weapons drawn. In that moment, the brain does not calmly sort through legal categories. It runs survival math. If he believed they were operating outside the law, the conclusion is obvious: “I’m about to be killed.” Once that thought hits, adrenaline spikes and the body does what bodies do. Muscles tense, hands come up to protect the face, the mind searches for an exit.

Pepper spray alone causes involuntary reactions. People clamp their eyes, shield them, twist away, cough, and gasp. Add being driven into the ground by multiple people and you get more reflexive movement, not less. Expecting someone who is blinded, burning, and getting crushed to “go limp” on command is unrealistic. Then that involuntary movement gets rebranded as “resisting” to justify escalation after the fact.

So when you say “he resisted,” define it. Was he striking anyone? Reaching for a weapon? Trying to harm someone? Or was he doing what any human does after being sprayed and slammed, which is cover the eyes, tense up, and try to get away?

If “resisting” includes reflexive movement after pepper spray and a takedown, the word stops meaning anything. It turns into a loophole: create pain and panic, wait for the inevitable human reaction, then cite that reaction as permission to keep escalating.

Same logic as a cop punching you in the face, declaring you under arrest, and then calling it “resisting” when your hands come up to protect your eyes instead of staying where the cop wants. Under that standard, compliance becomes physically impossible by design, and “resisting” becomes whatever they need it to mean.

Re: Man Shot by Immigration & Customs Enforcement in MN, Jan 24

Someone yelled gun, soon-to-be-dead guy reached to his back - pew-pew, pew. Shooters didn't know another agent had disarmed him of one gun, let alone another possible second weapon. No charges will be filed.

Reuters verified bystander video showing he was holding a phone, was pepper-sprayed, pinned down, and that an agent removed his firearm before another agent fired multiple rounds. That makes the “someone yelled gun” line irrelevant as justification, because “gun exists somewhere on his body” is not the same thing as an immediate threat once agents have him controlled and the weapon is already taken.

The “shooters didn’t know” defense is an admission of reckless, undisciplined use of deadly force. A multi-agent team has a duty to communicate and confirm the threat before firing into a pile-on. A failure to coordinate does not become a legal excuse to kill the person being restrained.

“Reached to his back” is not a magic phrase that turns lethal force into self-defense. He was blinded by spray, tackled, and held down. Movements toward the torso or waistband happen constantly in that situation, including reflexes to protect the body, brace, or stop pain. The standard for deadly force is an immediate, articulable threat, not a guess built on chaotic motion.

“Possible second weapon” is pure speculation. Courts do not authorize killing based on hypothetical weapons that no one saw, no one identified, and no one can point to in the video. The reported dispute here is whether the victim ever presented an immediate threat at all, and the available video evidence is being cited as contradicting the official self-defense narrative.

“No charges will be filed” is a prediction, not an argument.

Re: Man Shot by Immigration & Customs Enforcement in MN, Jan 24

You fucking halfwit. I very outspokenly don't even allow CNN links to be posted on threads in DR. I do not use them as a source citation. I never have. If another Mod allows them, that's their business. But you clearly have me confused with someone else as I have stated a dozen times between this thread, Renee Good's, and Charlie Kirk's that I do not consider CNN to be valid news.

So right from jump street, you're a fucking clown.

And FFS if the best rationale you can come up with to justify your simping for state-sanctioned street executions is 'HE MIGHTA HAD MORE GUNS!" then we have nothing more to discuss.

The mental gymnastics you must require just to get out of bed in the morning and manage to take a piss without accidentally pointing your little dick at your own face and sucking up a golden shower is astonishing.

Now take your 'One guy with six guns' horseshit and cram it up your fucking ass….
It’s absolutely adorable that you think CNN is a unique “source”. CNN is paid to tell you the exact same things that NPR, PBS, the BBC, CBC, CBS NBC et al are paid to tell you.

And I’m sure it’s just a complete coincidence that every “opinion” you’ve ever had, in your sad little NPC “life” just HAPPENS to align, 100% and without variation, with what CNN is paid to tell NPCs.

Your intellectual dishonesty is palpable. “6 guns”. I said he could very well have ANOTHER WEAPON. I’m very rarely in public without at least a gun and a knife. Sometimes I have two guns on me… in addition to a knife.

It’s an objective fact, but the people who pay your TV to tell you what to think haven’t paid them to tell it to you yet:

If you’re tussling with the police, and you make a rapid movement with your hand, sticking it in your pocket or whatever, they’re GOING to shoot you.

So much nuance is being lost just because the context of this event was hyped up by the media paid to distract you from the fraud investigations in MN.

Examples:

Yes, Pretti was licensed to carry a concealed (or open) firearm. BUT his carrying without his permit and ID was a felony just as if he’d been carrying without a license at all. Also, carrying, permit or no, while impeding police operations was a second felony.

That’s a fact.

Also, it doesn’t matter if he’d just had a gun pulled off him… or a bouquet or a bazooka… if you’re violently resisting the police, and you stick your hand in your pocket or into your coat, you’re getting shot. It doesn’t matter if you’re participating in a riot instigated by CNN and the governor of MN, or wrestling with Capitol Police.

The “but but he was disarmed!” argument doesn’t hold legal water. They could have pulled your “6 guns” off him but, until he stops resisting and submits to a search, he’s not considered disarmed.

It’s sad that you’ve co-opted your “mind” to a billionaire commie oligarch, and are incapable of processing objective truths that haven’t been spoon fed to you by your television, but such is the “life” of a useful idiot.

Re: Man Shot by Immigration & Customs Enforcement in MN, Jan 24

Silly people, just comply in advance. Surely the government that is illegally arresting, assaulting, disappearing, disregarding the rights of, and killing its citizens will stop!
Interestingly, only 2% of the ICE detentions taking place are happening in MN. Something like 24% of them are happening in TX, and none of this bullshit is happening.

The American people voted for illegals to be rounded up and deported. ICE’s job, by congressional mandate, is to do just that.

In places where the state and local police are cooperating, the operation is largely calm and peaceful. Strangely, though, in the state where the governor was just implicated in wide-spread fraud, said governor is telling residents to resist ICE, and telling his police not to assist them.

Re: Man Shot by Immigration & Customs Enforcement in MN, Jan 24

I dont care about your beef with Vedderman.

Where do you draw the line between an impediment and a murder? Since a man who is not holding a gun in his hands is fair game, where do you draw the line?
The line is pretty simple:

As an American, you have a right to be armed, permit or no.

Also, as an American, you have the right to speak your mind and even protest the actions of the government.

What you don’t have the right to do is impede the lawful actions of the police. If you’re at a protest, and you see a fellow protestor being detained, and you interfere, then you just crossed that line.

Now that you’ve crossed that line, and the police are trying to detain you, if you violently resist, you’ve crossed another line.

Now that you’re openly fighting with police, if you do anything with your hands- shove them in your pocket or something- you’ve crossed a third line, and are now considered a deadly threat.

Thought Experiment:

Go down to your local town center and find a cop.

Show him your permit to carry.
What happens?

Tell him you hate the police.
What happens now?

Punch the cop and start wrestling with him, and then start rummaging around inside your coat.
What happens now??

You can tell some people just walk into any police shooting video ready to lick the black off of them boots. Fucking pathetic.
