Man Gets Domed After Murdering 2 Bristol PD Officers in 2022.
Bristol, Connecticut - On October 12, 2022, around 7:30 p.m., 35-year-old Nicholas Brutcher and his brother, Nathan Brutcher, left their parents' house and went to Bleachers Bar located at 300 Middle Street, Bristol. Both had been drinking before they went to the bar. That night, the bar had an "open mic" forum and Nicholas Brutcher planned to do some stand-up comedy. While sitting at the bar, Nicholas Brutcher got into a fight with another patron. The altercation began when the other patron put his arm around Brutcher, who reacted by elbowing the man in the face. The fight then spewed outside into the parking lot and police were called. When officers arrived, witnesses pointed out the Brutcher brothers were driving away. At around 8:52 p.m., Officer Harrison Pollock responded to Bleachers, upon arrival, bystanders directed his attention to a white pickup truck leaving the parking lot. Officer Pollock pulled over the Brutcher brothers' truck as they were leaving. Nathan Brutcher was driving and both men were highly agitated and making rude remarks to the officers on scene. Because Nathan Brutcher was driving with a suspended license, the truck was towed. Both men became irate at the officers during the stop, yelling and cursing at them to the point where both were ticketed for creating a public disturbance. The Brutchers' mother was asked to come pick them up. After being picked up by his mother and returning home from the traffic stop, Brutcher immediately began putting on his camouflage, preparing his weapons, and within 30 minutes, at 10:32 p.m. placed the call to 911 to lure officers to his home. Sergeant Dustin DeMonte, Officer Alex Hamzy, and Officer Alec lurato responded. Upon arrival, they approached the side door of the residence. They observed Nathan Brutcher inside the house and ordered him to come outside. At that time, from a concealed position on the neighboring property, Nicholas Brutcher fired upon the three officers multiple times, at first using an AR-15 style rifle and later with a handgun. All three officers were hit. Sergeant DeMonte and Officer Hamzy sustained fatal wounds. Nicholas Brutcher walked to the driveway and toward Officer Hamzy and Sergeant DeMonte. Nicholas Brutcher's parents, who had come outside and in the rear yard of their home, saw what happened next. Nicholas Brutcher proceeded to stand over each officer and fire multiple shots into them, fatally shooting both - first Sergeant DeMonte and then Officer Hamzy. Upon seeing this, Catrina Brutcher began to scream uncontrollably for Nicholas Brutcher to stop. At one point, Nicholas Brutcher's AR-15 stopped firing (he had incorrectly inserted the magazine) and he switched to a handgun and continued firing. During this time, Nicholas Brutcher yelled, "How proud are you of me? How proud?". Although wounded in the upper leg area, Officer lurato was able to move around the back of the house and ultimately to the location of the Bristol police cruisers parked on Redstone Hill Road. From that position, Officer lurato fired one shot striking Nicholas Brutcher at the base of his skull killing him. |

Wow!!! Even though injured and full of adrenaline, that cop actually shot the guy in the head from that distance?? With one try. He should be proud of that. That was a super shot!!! I bet he must carry a lot of guilt for not being able to save his fellow officers, but none of them could have imagined... They had no chance, walking into a trap like that… The comment to his parents about being proud hints at some history there. I wouldn’t mind hearing about that part of the story as well. |

That one officer was a complete moron, he was totally escalating the situation and egging on the brother's. Like, wtf dude, this didn't even have to happen to begin with. The guy at the bar who they fought with didn't want to press charges, so what was the need to go chase them down? I didn't catch that idiot cop's name, I wonder if he was one of the murdered? Fucking little boys and their huge egos |

They were WAY too lenient on him. They should’ve ordered him to leave the area of the investigation and/or arrested him on the spot for public intoxication and disturbing the peace, especially after his drunk-a— started telling the cop he ‘should be scared’ of him.

… Now that I think of it isn’t that exactly what the ‘drunk tank’ is for? If they were too worried about his safety to let him walk but he was causing a disturbance being there just arrest him… There was probably a DUI there by the brother as well… Merely citing him is just lazy…

Re: Man Gets Domed After Murdering 2 Bristol PD Officers in 2022.
Because… When police are called to a scene for something like this conflict, they are required to make contact with BOTH sides, whether the parties are acting in a civil manner, or not. Especially if they are not! The police need to document the incident and identify all players. They actually need to speak with all parties involved to get both sides of the story for their investigation, which now creates something called a ‘history’, just in case something else happens. As in this case. It’s called ‘creating a timeline’. Then anyone can look back at the documented incident(s), which are created from what? Police contact! See how that works? All that aside, in this particular situation, the shooting was actually a separate incident. This happened after the contact from the bar fight. The shooter had called the police specifically to get them to come to his house so he could shoot them. And THIS is exactly why the police contact ALL parties!!! Now they have a history of what happened prior to the shooting. See how it all connects? THAT’S why they went after the guy who drove away from the bar fight. I don’t know why you find that odd…? It’s their actual JOB to do that! So… let’s spell this out: Get your ‘critical thinking cap’ on! Imagine someone punched you in the face. You call the police. They speak ONLY to you, letting the other person go. Would you feel like they did their due diligence? Then, what happens when they come back to attack you again, after the police have gone? If they never spoke to the other party, then the police won’t know that it was the same party that attacked you previously. They would have only your word, which, unless you have proof, doesn’t carry ANY weight in the end. Hence why we have the police DOCUMENT things. And, lastly, if that’s how police actually did their job, (by NOT doing their job… THINK people, THINK!!! It’s all very logical, if you THINK!!!!!! |
