I was just going to say the same thing. People survive under the chin way more than you'd think They often angle it too far forward as to massively disfigure rather than be immediately fatal. For a pistol not the way to go.

Perhaps he only had one bullet loaded and had to go get another  The Optic bone is one of the strongest bones in the body. Never a good idea to shoot from under the chin unless you lean the gun way back more towards you ears |
