Re: Man Dies After Losing Grip on Barbell, Which Strikes His Chest
I think its called a suicide grip where your thumbs do not wrap the bar.. Never understood why people would life like that but they do! if 1 wrist pops you are fucked!

Re: Man Dies After Losing Grip on Barbell, Which Strikes His Chest
So many people don't bother reading previous comments. The guy did not use his thumbs when gripping the bar. That's why the bar slipped from his simian non-opposable thumb grip hands. In that case, he might as well just have lathered his hands in cocoa butter before lifting. At least he would've smelled good. |

I think anyone who’s ever done a chest press has had this image play in their minds at some point. Specially when you’re hitting a PR. Poor guy, just trying to stay fit.

Is there even a benefit to the suicide grip other than death? I cant believe people are stupid enough to be using that shit.
