For those wondering why no one helped, it's because China doesn't have "Good Samaritan" laws. In the past, there were incidents of people helping someone; only for them to get sued later for compensation.

In some instances, people purposely set up situations where they would be able to sue someone to make money. So after that, no one helps any more. They're afraid to help.

Extra comment: You have to consider that the same situation (of suing) used to occur in Western countries until the "Good Samaritan" laws were enacted. Just some food for thought.
