Looked more like a block of explosive than those things usually called hand grenades. The other one was lucky. right beside the explosion and looked like he only got a ringing in his ears.

Looks like most of the blood came from his chest wound(s) like the good doctor said above. He was probably a walking/thrashing dead man after the blast, with shrapnel probably in his face/head and chest. It's hard to see but it didn't look like a regular grenade, maybe a detonator or artillery fuze of some sort or booby trap?
We need the HD version!!!

thank you! a very interesting video! the explosion didn’t really look dramatic at all until you realize it blew his whole damn wrist/hand off
Not to mention the damage to his upper body! When he is walking, only his hand seems bloodied. Damn!
