~ Looks like the guy was from a moving or delivery company & parked in the wrong place, next and on the power lines.

Re: Juan D'Arc Got Grounded... No?

To those who claim tires are insulators here is your proof that they are not.
Ya, that's just stupid. Electricity is going to run to the ground unless it's being directed. And your tires are on the ground. And they are likely steel belted tires.

It's just a myth because people don't understand the metal frame of the car is what protects you. As long as you don't touch anything metal.

Horrible way to die, I'm thinking live wire?
Seems quick. I would prefer that over many alternatives.

Re: Juan D'Arc Got Grounded... No?

the tyres are insulated

the problem arises when a person touches both the ground and a live vehicle - if they jump free from the live vehicle before touching the ground, they will be safe. in this case the insulating properties of the tyres are wasted, because the victim is the conductor between the live vehicle and the ground
I know I’m a retard when it comes to understanding electricity, but you’re saying that if he’d have not held onto that handle he’d have been ok? (And/or if he’d stayed in the truck?)
Genuine question. I’m like the person another poster mentioned who thought if they had rubber tyres on their bike they’d be ok in a lightening storm! ::
