Looks like the container came in contact with a live wire in the brush above. He just so happened to be grounded to the earth so it took the path of least resistance. You can see the back tires also taking the brunt of current. If only he would've been inside.

You can see arcing and smoke coming from the back two tires around the 5 second mark. Current is flowing through them. More current is flowing through the man since he is the path of least resistance but there is still current flowing through the two back tires, which couldn't happen if they were insulators. Tires are poor conductors but they are not insulators due to the carbon black used as a stabilizer in them. This is something I just learned here a few weeks ago. Holds true after seeing several videos with tires conducting electricity.

i saw the smoke and flame, but didn't take too much notice of it, hence why i no doubt missed your point

my "belief" is that the tyres would not have started smoking until after the moron earthed himself out, but for your point, that is irrelevant

even if the term is not 100% correct, i would still call them insulators though, because they are the thing that insulates the live vehicle from the ground, hence making it safe to sit in a vehicle that is touching live wires, and also allowing you to leave providing both the ground and vehicle are not in contact with anything but the tyres

To those who claim tires are insulators here is your proof that they are not.

Thank you... yes, poor guy... I feel bad posting a person's tragedy, but seeing means learning—and hopefully, others can avoid such gruesome fate.
So make sure you DON'T take a job that pays 25 cents a day, driving a truck in some god-forsaken country, where you are expected to whistle while you work.
