You are correct! This 'god' that you speak of (which is entirely real) is so loving and caring and almighty, that he won't prevent innocent people from dying and being sent to hell. Sure, some people tempt death by doing stupid things. But, I fail to see how a child being murdered by a pedophile, or an entire civilization being wiped out by a Tsunami, are not valid enough reasons for this so called 'god' to intervine and protect the innocent people that he so desperately wants to believe and worship him.

Religions don't make any sense to people like myself, and I fail to see how I deserve eternal punishment for being a good person that doesn't believe in superstitions/supernatural events.
