Indian Man Slit His Wife's Throat Before Hanging Himself
Kushinagar, Uttar Pradesh, India A husband slit his wife’s throat with a sharp weapon and then hanged himself. The couple had entered into a love marriage four months earlier. The man, 22-year-old Arun S., had married Neha, a Dalit woman, against the wishes of their families. After the marriage, Arun’s relatives eventually accepted the union, and he began living at home with his wife. According to villagers, at around 9pm an argument broke out between Arun and Neha over some issue. Family members intervened and calmed them down. Upset with her husband, Neha went into the room. Arun followed her inside. Using a sickle kept to one side, he slit the throat of his wife while she was lying on the bed, killing her. Before relatives could reach the room after hearing screams, Arun hanged himself from a ceiling hook using a rope. It is not yet known what the dispute between the husband and wife was about. |
