A woman died and a man was injured following a shooting on Wednesday in Chicago’s Auburn Gresham neighborhood.

The incident unfolded at around 1:20 p.m. in the 7900 block of S. May St., according to police. There, officers located two victims, a 26-year-old female victim and a 27-year-old male victim, who police said were inside a vehicle when someone opened fire and shot them.

The car hit a nearby GMC van, police added. The GMC van driver refused medical treatment at the scene.

The 26-year-old victim, who suffered multiple gunshot wounds, was taken to LCM Hospital in critical condition before she died from her injuries. The 27-year-old victim, also shot multiple times, is reportedly in good condition. The man was shot in his rear and arm.

A witness told a baby, holding a lollipop, was taken out of the back seat of the car after the shooting. The baby waas not hurt and the baby’s relationship to the people who were shot is also unclear.

Three people were seen running up to the vehicle and firing at least two dozen shots. They then ran away & jumped into an Alfa Romeo.

No one is in custody.

That was a pretty brazen attack for the US. That LADY must have REALLY done something to piss someone off.

And check out the last dude . I would have shot him in the face cause it seemed for a moment like he was about to stab the other two guys in the back, and he also sealed his own fate. He didnt fire any lethal shots, but he tagged along, so he's gonna get the same sentence as the others.

Glad the baby's OK, although the fact that his relationship to the victims is "unclear" makes me wonder what kind of shady activities might have been involved.
It's hard to tell if it's better that they were his parents and he has to grow without a mother, or that they were not and who knows his future whereabouts.
