No alarm bells seemed to be ringing in the minds of everyone else who were there. The gates were down, and he sure looked like he was waiting to "catch a train". Even when the train hit him no one seemed to react. Must be "everyday life" in that place.

Disingenuous. How were they supposed to give a Fuck or flinch when their heads are turned elsewhere, busy talking, zoning out waiting for the train to pass. And that train was going by so fast and loud af. No different than you being in line at the train crossing in whatever country you live in and someone is committing suicide on the tracks. Unless you are looking right at the tracks the entire time, you won't know a person was just there and now they have been hit and are gone until the train completely passes or is able to stop close enough to then alert everyone that something happened. That doesn't make one a shit person. |
