Re: Huntington Beach Police Shooting 9/22/2017
I think the cop shot him because if he'd got away who knows who else could have gotten hurt? We can't see the surroundings so don't know how much space the cop had to play with. Obviously trying to avoid killing people is good, but sometimes it's not always possible to protect the wider society.

exactly, like the kid could have even been chokeholded or something. killing the kid was no way necessary here if we want a better human society. |

ALL you fucking idiots who think it's not an execution is fucking retarded. YES IT WAS JUSTIFIED. But you don't need to fire 7bullets after backing away 10-15 feet. start with 1-2 Guess what motherfucker magic happen when u fire a gun.. The guy screaming No No No (while hardly being able to maintain balance)before taking the last bullet was pretty harsh imo. (Even a little bit after watching him come at the officer) |

Re: Huntington Beach Police Shooting 9/22/2017
Go and subscribe to ASP on youtube. You will learn a thing or two about these situations. You don’t fire once or twice, you engage the threat until it stops and a standing perp is still a threat. It’s not “bang bang!...hey? you still a threat?” It’s “bang bang bang bang...until the threat stops and drops” But seriously, go binge on those videos before firing back a reply. What was this guys intent? if you watch new video he was seen punching the officer multiple times and the officer even tried a taser so this guys motives were pretty clear. not to mention he was a paranoid schizophrenic. so what did he grab? news doesn’t make it clear and maybe the cop didn’t know exactly what it was due to the mayhem of the moment, but it could have been mace or his Taser (some issue tasers have multiple rounds). the guy easily could have incapacitated the cop with either and then taken his gun and used it against him making this a deadly force encounter. when you engage a threat in a deadly force encounter you engage until the threat stops completely and not just after one or two shots. The ASP videos show plenty of encounters where someone is shot once (even at point-blank range) and then they get right back in the fight and shoot the other guy (in some instances a cop) killing them. the videos and commentary are quite educational and could actually save your life (they don’t all deal with shootings) |

Nothing right about this. The cop's life was not in danger at the point he shot the guy. Need to train the cops to control their tempers.
