Re: Hit in the Head by Helicopter

But why didn’t it hit the other guy who was even closer to the blades?
The other guy is considerably shorter than the deceased which I estimate was around 5' 10" whereas the shorter guy looks 5' 3"

Re: Hit in the Head by Helicopter

I have watched it about 5 times now. HE WAS SHOT. This was no rotor strike! The blades are still spinning fine, which they wouldn't be if they had hit him. The rotor plane of rotation is plainly visible a couple of feet above his head.
Rotor blades are capable of cutting through power lines , they wouldn't even notice that tap !

Re: Hit in the Head by Helicopter

Helicopter rotor blades can dip down as low as 4.5 feet off level ground from the nose and even lower if there is an up-slope off the nose. The force of the blade would have knocked him unconscious as it took off a portion of his skull. I very much doubt he felt anything at all.

Re: Hit in the Head by Helicopter

There's more blade length over-hanging from the front than the sides. Sorta like a balance bar. The front has little to no support of keeping the blades leveled, whereas the side of the helicopter has more support. Think of it as a push mower with the front on 2 inches while the back side is still on 4 inches. You're gonna cut deeper up front than the back. Helicopters work in the same way when using down force to land.

Re: Hit in the Head by Helicopter

Man, that's the first thing that popped into my mind as well.

As far as approaching a helicopter, multiple sources seem to say that approaching it from the front like this guy did is fine, so long as the pilot is aware.

Ummm......was THIS zombie a Mexican Enterpreneur? He doesn't look Hispanic. Or can other people take it on the forehead from helicopters?

Re: Hit in the Head by Helicopter

A tequila businessman from Jalisco died at the General Hospital of Tulancingo (HGT), after the propeller of a mosquito helicopter hit his head.

The businessman entered the hospital late Saturday afternoon with a head injury and exposure of a brain mass.

Elements of the Singuilucan Civil Protection Directorate (PC) transferred JCC, 52, to the hospital; however, despite medical efforts, he died after falling into cardio-respiratory arrest several times.

The mishap allegedly occurred when he left the El Gallito ranch and got into the helicopter. However, he didn't bow deep enough.
The Helicopter gods demand absolute, self abasing worship. This is a good devotional training video.
