truckers aren't very attentive drivers because they are basically invincible in most collisions. you could see the cab of the truck lurch as he mashed on the brakes, though. they were doing about 70mph according to the dashcam. |

1st second of video: cam drive under the powerline 2nd second: rotor assembly falling, chopper falling 3-5 sec: chopper falls on a highway in front of truck truck driver maybe had like less than 3 seconds to register what's going on and react. not nearly enough, when you are not expecting a collision. don't know what the pilot was thinking. he was clearly too low. |

My thoughts exactly, judging by the height the heli was falling it looks much higher than normal, what do they use in Louisiana to do maintenance on their power lines, a stairway to heaven or a helicopter like I have seen a few times on power lines not as high as this one appears to be?
