Re: Helicopter Crash In Louisiana Caught On Dashcam
Hawley's Bell 407 helicopter was heading from Gonzales to New Orleans' Lakefront Airport where it was scheduled to pick up three passengers, the airport director said. Instead, it clipped an Entergy Louisiana transmission line at about 12:30 p.m. and fell onto the eastbound side of the highway near milepost 212 in St. Charles Parish. The pilot was killed in the crash, Louisiana State Police trooper Kate Stegall said. |

Re: Helicopter Crash In Louisiana Caught On Dashcam
The helicopter was airworthy. It hit the power lines that you can’t see in the video which caused the rotor to separate from the aircraft.

Re: Helicopter Crash In Louisiana Caught On Dashcam
In that slow-mo footage, it looks as if the pilot was trying to jump out, maybe prefering a dip in the water than faceplanting into the bridge, but then the chopper is like "don't worry, lil buddy, we're in this together" and pulled him back in. Talk about a toxic relationship |

Re: Helicopter Crash In Louisiana Caught On Dashcam
I looked again after I read your post. Probably a loose piece of helicopter that is swinging around outside, not the pilot. I think the piece swings back behind the helicopter and appears again out the other side. It does look like a body with arms, but I can't think how the pilot would be tethered so he swings around the outside of the helicopter.
