Re: Guy Jumps from the 15th Floor Landing on the Grass

I always wonder if, when someone does a suicidal jump, whether or not they experience regret on the way down as well as surprise at the severity of the impact. No one seems to have lived long enough to say so one way or the other.

There is a documentary called The Bridge that discusses people jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge. One guy, Ken Baldwin, survived his jump and he said that as soon as he let go, he immediately regretted it. He said, "I instantly realized that everything in my life that I'd thought was unfixable was totally fixable—except for having just jumped."

as Gimlet said. In the documentary "The Bridge" they interviewed a couple people that survived and they said they regretted jumping damn near as soon as they stepped off the edge..

Very disappointing.
I was wondering what the grass-landing was going to sound like.
I was expecting a "Whumph" kind of sound.
I got nothing instead...

Re: Guy Jumps from the 15th Floor Landing on the Grass

Yes. People that have jumped off the Golden Gate Bridge but survived all stated that they had immense regret the moment they began to fall.
I’m kinda skeptical about that. They jumped, were rescued, recovered from whatever injuries, lived to be interviewed about it. That's lots of time to reflect, not to mention that the people to survived but wish they hadn't probably wouldn't say as much on camera.

I really doubt that once you've summoned up the will to jump from a great height, the effects of gravity bring a sudden moment of life affirming clarity.

The documentary on the Golden Gate Bridge jumpers has survivors tales and everyone said they regretted it instantly
