Fact: I am NOT a huge fan of law enforcement.
Fact: As stated in the original post a domestic violence incident had occurred earlier that day.
Fact: As noted above, dude had a record that included assault with a deadly weapon.
Fact: This happened in California.
Fact: California has a three strike law= life in prison.

So, what we can guess is that these officers face this situation often enough to know that someone being arrested as their third strike is in a positon of 'having nothing to lose'. The officer responding likely knew the full past record as it appeared to be a stake out waiting for him to arrive at the home.

As much as it does appear to be 'overkill' I'm not going to judge the cop because I don't know what he knew about this guys background and the potentially imminent danger posed to the officers.

Really, wow! Later in the video, one police officer asks the other "How many shots were fired?" and the officer who handcuffed the dead suspect answered something to the answer of "6"...

Thug or not..the cop should be tried for murder then executed with the same # of shots that he gave the guy..when does this shit stop? How many times do we have to see this happen before people stand up and take action?
Should we really have to fear the very people who are sworn to protect us?

Justified the first couple shots. Extra shots were also justified because it looked like he was continuing to try to reach for something.
