Not clueless at all Ajwantsyou! Yes here in Australia the cops have guns too but they dont have to worry about every citizen they deal being armed to the teeth with fire arms. Were not in a position here in Australia where we our own population are about to implode on themselves with racial issues, Gang land warefare, school shootings and dumb ass hill billies able to purchase a fully automatic military weapons. Seriously, yes people kill each other regardless of fire arm accessibility. But having easy accessibility only increases the concerns of having to defend your self from any coward who can pull a trigger. When it comes to defending the nation we leave that to the military. When it comes to defending my home, im not to concerned because i know its not easy for any dumb ass to get his hands on a gun. so if he's going to attack me and my family, he's going to have to do some work (physically) to put us down!

cant blame the cop. they were looking for gun toting violators and that kid decided to put his hands under his shirt. even i would think he's going for that so called gun. best thing is just put your hands up or in plain sight until you can ask permission to pull your pants up.

in this case, even if there's no gun from the kid, the cop's action is justified.

Not a good idea. Pulling the car in front of the suspect would make the cop a sitting duck if he did in fact have a gun.

Um I thought it was standard procedure to park the squad car at an angle, to provide cover, and so that it can be used as a shield in the even shots are exchanged?

It is, but you're not supposed to pull the car up in front of the suspect. That's just asking for him to run up and pop you if he does indeed have a gun.
