People amaze me, I guess most of the people on this site haven't been in a situation where its either your life or the others life. I can't believe people are sticking up for an idiot who clearly turned around and pulled his shirt up which could be taken as a weapon draw. In a country where owning a gun is like owning car insurance I can clearly see why he shot him. I dare anyone who disagrees with this shooting to go up agaisnt people everyday who may or may not have a weapon and see how you react in this situation. "I am mr tough guy i have a gun to protect me from the evil government". Take it from places such as Australia and the UK guns are a fucking stupid idea and people get killed because of it. I wonder how many of you are NRA supporters.

Why is this the officers problem if the dude drank or not... if u cant drink in a responsible fashion, stay in ur own home and not drunk in public.

If the officer was drunk, he would have been held responsible, I would hope.

In and of itself has nothing to do with the Officer.

Its the state of mind the victim was in when he was shot, and why he didn't immediately comply with the Officers commands.

You're going to tell us that you've never had a few too many and walked out of a Bar into a cab, or walked home?

No doubt the amount of available firearms adds to the Cops aggressiveness.

From the Cops perspective you'd need to be on your toes and be ready, you'd have no choice.

Well, judging by the Cop attempting to eventually administer first aid he was allowed to do so. So the question is why did he wait so long, and only after he'd found no weapons? Why the sudden concern?

The other thing is the guy had broken no laws. Fool for not complying fast enough maybe, but he hadn't broken any laws.

yes, i have .. but iv never been shot by a cop for not doing as instructed. I think we both agree that the actions of a cop are dictated by how he reacts to the person he comes in contact with....

i would think that being drunk brings up the odds of you encountering a cop. and increasing the odds of bad shit comes someone in this situatioin and generallly it aint going to be the cop that ends up fucked over.

because his only concern has to be and needs to be to neutralize the threat. and until that aspect is complete nothing else is of greater importance.
