There is a number of videos on YouTube which show numerous bodies on Everest. Over 200 have died up there, many just going to sleep and never waking up.

Hard to say how many specifically are still there, but most estimates claim there's at least 200+ bodies there. Usually the conditions are just too harsh to make any attempt to recover them. The main factors are things like bad weather, where they were when they died, good weather - leading to competing hiking groups causing traffic jams, the obvious risk for the rescuers, and the monetary cost are the most typical reasons. Some of those bodies are commonly used as landmarks to track the group's progress as well. Which I'm sure fucks with a lot of people lol. |
