Re: Full Police Video of the Nashville Shooter

The sooner blowhards who know nothing about our mortality stats or demographics, and stop ignorantly opining about our gun issues, the sooner we can work on actionable solutions in a realistic sense rather than fairy tale nonsense.

You're on this website and telling me that all the murder done can be prevented by laws and removing firearms from the innocent but leaving them in the hands of law enforcement (the state)? I wonder if the violent, animals we see on here would adhere to more laws or just keep ignoring the ones they already are. That's a real tough one.

How many cartel beheadings, tire lynchings, and even vehicular homicides can be prevented by such measures?

More children die from accidents than homicide in the US but I never hear about common sense car control or ever increasing restrictions on bad drivers. How about common sense safety reform so such accidents can never happen again? If it saves one life then isn't it worth it? Better stop selling alcohol so folks can't drive drunk and cause traffic deaths. Let's also limit how fast cars can go so folks can't speed as much. What else can we do?

More to the point, evil people will always find a way to do evil despite the tool they use and this will never stop. There's no way to completely stop such or even practically, unless you had god-like powers.

Most of the time, these scumbags have markedly trouble personal issues that their friends and families are aware of yet they're still not addressed enough to help prevent them from such evil acts.

Said families and friends are far more likely to intervene more effectively and prevent such than the already mandatory federal background checks for each and every legal gun purchase, but of course, let's not talk about that either. Presumably, the burden is on the government, who has the monopoly of force, with no responsibility on the people more involved in people's lives, letalone the evildoer themselves.

The Uvalde response shows that even when when the police (the State) is on scene there's no guarantee they'll act to save you from murderous scumbags so yes, let's make it so the innocent have fewer, on body, immediately accessible means of defending themselves and others. Genius!

The hero cops in this case were on scene in minutes yet, as such circumstances dictate, were still playing catch up. That's the reality of every such attack, even ones done by murderers who stab, bludgeon, strangle, or what have you. You've only yourself to depend on in the moment and would you rather have more tools or fewer to defend yourself.

And the case for the citizenry to be armed is more than obvious with the Ukraine conflict, which if you support, obviously counters your deriding of American gun culture which is exactly rooted in such resistance. I guess you'd like the Chinese people to still be outgunned (legally of course) by the CCP as well.

Keep licking the boot or back the People against predation of both State and non-state actors. That's what the 2A is about. Who do you want to be more outfitted?
EXCELLENT. Absolutely wonderfully put. This is how I try to explain it but it never comes out that perfectly. Well done.

Re: Full Police Video of the Nashville Shooter

Do you agree or not, that the USA should tighten their gun laws, make it really difficult to own a weapon??
Easy answer. Absolutely not. With your solution, who determines which citizen is competent to arm themself: Gov. What entity does the 2nd Amendment protect this citizen from: Gov.

Second Amendment protects our country from totalitarian Gov takeover. Only a fool believes history does not repeat. In their motherlands, our founders were cowed, butchered and exterminated en masse by Britain Gov and other Euro Gov. Once in the US, our founders wrote a Constitution based on those lessons learned, to arm each citizen as the end-all protection against Gov totalitarianism.

There will always be suicidal mass murder loonies. They historically use guns, clubs, knives, bombs, poisons, mass transit, armies, etc. If Gov takes away one means, the loonies will just shift to another. Again, history repeats.

The current feral, social media culture has created perception that suicidal people best share their pain via mass murder, on their last day on earth. That is what we are dealing with - it is a mental health driven crisis enabled by social media. Taking away one particular weapon will not change this mental health/social problem.

US can not and shall not forfeit its Constitution to react to a social-mental health crisis. We will deal with this plague on our own terms.

Re: Full Police Video of the Nashville Shooter

Ok...for 1 moment...let's put you in charge...Mr President. How will you deal with the scourge of gun crime. Here in the UK (albeit a far smaller country), our gun laws are incredibly tight. Without doing some checks, the last major shooting spree with mass casualties was at a school in Scotland in 1996. Tell me, when was yours?? Surely to goodness, if you tighten the law to the point where it is virtually impossible to buy a weapon, will that not help.

I'm not saying the constitution is wrong but it is over 200 years old, some sort of revision is surely overdue.

When all else fails...you resort to shouting obscenities...wash your mouth out.
Do you agree or not, that the USA should tighten their gun laws, make it really difficult to own a weapon?? I live in the UK, yes we have our own problems and there is currently a knife crime epidemic, but virtually each week, somebody goes on the rampage around a school or shopping centre, when will it end??.
It must be genetic among the British, to not be able to use logic when it comes to Firearms...

The USA has NO SHORTAGE of gun laws, yet, school violence doesn't stop.

You know the literal definition of insanity is, "to do the same thing over and over, yet expect a different outcome"...

Your response would be laughable if it wasn't so bloody serious and I don't even live in your country.

It says on your profile that you are a gun expert, so I ask you...as an expert...what would you do...I'm giving you a platform...c'mon man...speak.

Stop misusing words intentionally to mislead.

Self loading repeating magazine loading firearms came about in the late 1800s early 1900s as a natural evolution of breech loading metallic cartridges.

You say "tighter" and "harder" but what your really mean is "complete prohibition" of ALL modern firearms.
L

That isn't tighter laws or harder to get, it means your can't own them at all ever again. That is banning and prohibition, not regulating. American gun enthusiasts don't want your stupid single shot antiques and duck guns.

Stop it.

As to why sonmuch resistance? Machine guns were regulated since 1934. Registered machine guns were never ever used in murders or crime in general (like 1 case of illegal unregistered machine guns). Problem solved right? Nope, still effectively banned them anyway in 1986.

We dont trust regulation and gun laws after that. Never again. Never. Ever.

We seperated for a reason. Don't make us have a civil war then come over there to kick your British/UK asses again for instigating it.

"Registered machine guns were never ever used in murders or crime in general" since 1934.

Coincidentally NFA was passed to weaken civilians from fighting back over problems the government created in the first place.

Sounds familiar?
