Re: Full Police Video of the Nashville Shooter
EXCELLENT. Absolutely wonderfully put. This is how I try to explain it but it never comes out that perfectly. Well done. |

Re: Full Police Video of the Nashville Shooter
Easy answer. Absolutely not. With your solution, who determines which citizen is competent to arm themself: Gov. What entity does the 2nd Amendment protect this citizen from: Gov. Second Amendment protects our country from totalitarian Gov takeover. Only a fool believes history does not repeat. In their motherlands, our founders were cowed, butchered and exterminated en masse by Britain Gov and other Euro Gov. Once in the US, our founders wrote a Constitution based on those lessons learned, to arm each citizen as the end-all protection against Gov totalitarianism. There will always be suicidal mass murder loonies. They historically use guns, clubs, knives, bombs, poisons, mass transit, armies, etc. If Gov takes away one means, the loonies will just shift to another. Again, history repeats. The current feral, social media culture has created perception that suicidal people best share their pain via mass murder, on their last day on earth. That is what we are dealing with - it is a mental health driven crisis enabled by social media. Taking away one particular weapon will not change this mental health/social problem. US can not and shall not forfeit its Constitution to react to a social-mental health crisis. We will deal with this plague on our own terms. |

Re: Full Police Video of the Nashville Shooter
Ok...for 1 moment...let's put you in charge...Mr President. How will you deal with the scourge of gun crime. Here in the UK (albeit a far smaller country), our gun laws are incredibly tight. Without doing some checks, the last major shooting spree with mass casualties was at a school in Scotland in 1996. Tell me, when was yours?? Surely to goodness, if you tighten the law to the point where it is virtually impossible to buy a weapon, will that not help. I'm not saying the constitution is wrong but it is over 200 years old, some sort of revision is surely overdue. |

Re: Full Police Video of the Nashville Shooter
It must be genetic among the British, to not be able to use logic when it comes to Firearms... The USA has NO SHORTAGE of gun laws, yet, school violence doesn't stop. You know the literal definition of insanity is, "to do the same thing over and over, yet expect a different outcome"... |

Your response would be laughable if it wasn't so bloody serious and I don't even live in your country. It says on your profile that you are a gun expert, so I ask you...as an expert...what would you do...I'm giving you a platform...c'mon man...speak. |

Re: Full Police Video of the Nashville Shooter
Stop misusing words intentionally to mislead. Self loading repeating magazine loading firearms came about in the late 1800s early 1900s as a natural evolution of breech loading metallic cartridges. You say "tighter" and "harder" but what your really mean is "complete prohibition" of ALL modern firearms. L That isn't tighter laws or harder to get, it means your can't own them at all ever again. That is banning and prohibition, not regulating. American gun enthusiasts don't want your stupid single shot antiques and duck guns. Stop it. As to why sonmuch resistance? Machine guns were regulated since 1934. Registered machine guns were never ever used in murders or crime in general (like 1 case of illegal unregistered machine guns). Problem solved right? Nope, still effectively banned them anyway in 1986. We dont trust regulation and gun laws after that. Never again. Never. Ever. We seperated for a reason. Don't make us have a civil war then come over there to kick your British/UK asses again for instigating it. |

"Registered machine guns were never ever used in murders or crime in general" since 1934. Coincidentally NFA was passed to weaken civilians from fighting back over problems the government created in the first place. Sounds familiar? |
