Re: Full Police Video of the Nashville Shooter
Great comments. One factor (of many) is the environment a person lives in. I have a friend grew up in a crappy, high crime neighborhood. One weekend afternoon one of his neighbors asked another neighbor to turn down his music. The music guy told him to fuck off. Lead to a confrontation that capped off with a shooting. Why not just walk away, is that REALLY worth killing someone. My buddy explained in the hood he lived in, ANY show of weakness (weakness defined as having the civility to walk away from a loud music confrontation) turns you into a victim and you're walking around with a target on your back. Your a "bitch" or a "punk" at that point. So to your point, that's the difference between many Chicago neighborhoods and Tokyo.

Re: Full Police Video of the Nashville Shooter
I distinctly remember the 2012 Aurora theater shooting as the beginning of this era of constant gun rampages and massacres in the USA, and then a dramatic spike in incidents from 2016 onward. I never cared to bitch about moral decay, but it feels like the most obvious reason rampage killings keep happening since this last decade is because a growing number of Americans, especially the youth, don't feel like there is anything to feel satisfied about in life, like there is any real future to look forward to in this country other than continued devolvement into post-modern hell, and being bombarded by all of this and overstimulated by their smart devices. Not to mention, most people who get any sort of attention or recognition anywhere, especially online, usually it's for degenerate behavior or being obnoxious. Like all anyone gives a shit about is money or clout. It's also obvious that the amount of people who have a sense of civic duty, societal trust, and satisfaction in their lives is much higher in places like New Zealand, even Japan with all the lonely people, so I agree with you. I have began to think we are either dead-last as far as "First World" countries, or we are the king of the "Third World", haven't decided which is more true. maybe both. |

Re: Full Police Video of the Nashville Shooter
This pice of shit killed a 9 yr old girl as she pulled the fire alarm. I’m all for trans rights and I am a huge ally, but the fact that they’re using the wrong pronouns for her is awesome. Disrespectful basically. Not like she deserves anything else. |
