Re: A Female Worker Being Crushed by a Forklift Truck
Man, that was just stupidity all the way around. At first I thought it was the guy squatted on the back of the truck that was going to suffer but then I saw the woman come in and try to pull the back end down. Are you fucking kidding me? Obviously no forklift training but they hire some pretty stupid people. Unbelievable! |

So horrifying. She gave her life trying to protect a few sheets of drywall. Is it possible that people do not understand physics? This just makes me cry.

Re: A Female Worker Being Crushed by a Forklift Truck
My full time job being a stand up lift driver, this video just makes me shake my head. First of all, there is something called the triangle of stability. Meaning the operator must ensure that the center of gravity of his combined forklift and load remains within the stability triangle to guard against tip over. If the forks were low to the ground where the center of gravity was more stable, the forklift would not have tilted over in the first place. Second, there are data plates on the lift that show the weight of the lift and max load weight( in my case, also with the battery installed). You must never exceed this load capacity. Safety where I work is a HUGE deal and they do not take it lightly. We literally sit through a week of safety videos and safety training, written exams on warehouse/forklift safety and proper ways to operate different types of equipment. All to ensure shit like this never happens.
