First, reading other comments: Shooting out the tires... You've seen too many movies. You don't shoot at tires. The bullet could ricochet off the tire, off the rims, off the ground, it is way dangerous.

Obviously he was a mental wreck, either from drugs or just his state. If he had issues like this, he should not have been driving, and if his family knew of these issues, he certainly should not have been traveling alone!

But when I saw him blocking traffic, and filming the reaction of the other cars put into an unknown situation. He obviously was on a power trip. I'm going to block their way, what are they going to do about it. It brought back memories of a, mostly black student body, high school which was along a major 4 lane highway. At the end of the day, it was well known that students would just mossy out into traffic, to cross the road. Not just walking or running across, but slowly and purposely stopping traffic, maybe take a minute while in the middle of the street to adjust the contents of your backpack. Stop in the middle of the lane and turn around to joke with your friends. The kids had it in their head that traffic must stop for pedestrians, even if not at the cross walk or intersection. They knew that if a black kid got hit there would be major turmoil. So they took advantage of their "power" to cause havoc. I'm sure this is a cultural thing that I do not understand at all.

I'm the complete opposite, even when I'm driving - if I know I need to slow and turn right up ahead and I need to change lanes, I'll slow to let cars pass looking for a large gap, so that when I do slow and turn up ahead, just being considerate, not forcing someone to stop. Unlike some who speed to get in front of a line of cars just to slam on their brake to make a turn at the next corner. But, hey I'm just weird.

Last thought. His first chance to get or ask for help ended when the minivan slowed and stopped and asked him if someone was coming or if he needed help. "No I'm good" and an abrupt "go on go" - like wat r u look'in at! His last chance was when he didn't answer his phone for (assuming) family members calling him.

In this day of terrorism and other crazy crap going on, you've got a crazy guy acting completely abnormal, who has a 2 ton weapon (called his SUV) starting to drive when surrounded by officers on foot. If he wanted a supervisor, you turn your car off and wait. Had they shot him then, it would have been murder. But once he started moving his car, he was a threat of unknown intention.
