Re: Extreme Sports Enthusiast Dives Down Gorge Into Lake, Drowns
It looked like he was attempting to dive and thought he could get enough forward momentum to clear the ledge without a running start. Unfortunately, he couldn't figure out how to get into position, panicked, and hit the water in the worst possible way. After impact, he attempted to swim but was definitely concussed, disoriented, and probably had other injuries. He quickly lost consciousness and went under. A jump from that height could be survivable, but only if it's done feet first, with all body parts aligned, and a vertical entry. It would take a lot of skill and experience to pull off. |

Re: Extreme Sports Enthusiast Dives Down Gorge Into Lake, Drowns
Hmmm, bellyflop. Interesting choice. Not that it would have changed anything in any possible way, but we always jumped feet first with shoes on once we figured out how hard it was to swim with a broken neck, back and pelvis while unconscious
