Express Train Derailed in Southern Pakistan, Killing At Least 30
Ten cars of a passenger train derailed in southern Pakistan on Sunday, killing 30 people and injuring more than 90 others, officials said. Some of the derailed cars on the Hazara Express train overturned in the crash near the town of Nawabshah. The train was going from Karachi to Rawalpindi when the 10 cars went off the tracks near the Sarhari railway station. The derailed cars sprawled across or near the tracks in the flat, rural landscape. Accidents on Pakistan's decaying rail system, where colonial-era communications and signals systems haven't been modernized, are common and successive governments have for years been trying to secure funds to upgrade the rail network as part of China's Belt and Road Initiative for infrastructure projects. |

the pak gov will issue reparations of two dollars and four cents to affected families and make no repairs to the rail system before resuming service.

It seems that everyone there tends to commit suicide by train anyway... this is just the convenient bulk method.

You are exaggerating, sir/mam, relatives receive payment of 283 Rupee (1 US dollah) for each family member killed by undisciplined, criminally negligent trains...
