This cop for some reason did not remember his training or facts of a gun battle when facing superior firepower. He should have called for back up and backed off until he had numbers. He might still be alive today if he had. Condolences to his wife and now grown children. sad

 No. His training is he should have not allowed the suspect to reenter his vehicle. And he should have continued to follow the suspect all the way to his door. And the second he put his hands under the seat.  |

This is why most departments carry tasers . Nowadays that guy would have had the shit zapped out of him. Went to jail, and had his gun confiscated. But this is why cops shoot people when they have split seconds to decide what to do. Because they are shown these videos. And its etched into their minds. Which is why people must understand when dealing with a cop, it's best to just not put them in a difficult situation. |

This comment is really old but I can shed some light...the vet should be able to maintain some memory of being able to follow orders of those appointed over him. He’s told to do XYZ he should do that. He instead chose to murder a cop. I’m military police in the navy and in my 15 years doing so I have, I shit you not, been shown this video as a form of training EVERY year since it’s happened. Those in the position of law enforcement have this shitty predicament of making the “right” choice and in some cases it leads to the death of the officer unfortunately. |
