This is correct.
If the Deputy had a rifle I think he would have faired better in the fight. Using both men as a example, what we can learn from this video is if a determined attacker is motivated to kill, even if they are severely wounded in the process they will keep coming and not stop. The only way to stop them shot placement and hits to the brain or heart. Unfortunately the officer lost, rip.

he should of shot him..and i know thats probably just he west coast in me coming out but...DAMN i usually laugh about the gasping but i could so feel that poor guys fear when he screamed :(
