Vietnam vets are not to be played with. I feel bad for the cop and his family, but the cop showed no tactical intellect in this matter. (1) He should have taken the suspect down as soon as he advanced unarmed. He could have used a tazer or asp to subdue him. The officer should have NEVER allowed him to go back to his pickup truck. (2) Once he observed the man brandish a fire arm, he should have opened fire. The office was even too frightened to hit the guy. You see a shot almost hit the suspect in the head as it blew out his driver side window. But it seems fear took over and he lost whatever tactical edge he did have. (3) Not positive on this one, just a guess, but I assume the officer lost site of the suspect while trying to HIDE, not take cover. The suspect seems to have taken advantage of the officers fear and lack of experience under heat. (4) Whoever thought this was an AK-47 has no fire arm knowledge whatsoever.  |

Cop seemed dumb, indecisive and sluggish. He really should have killed the cocksucker just as soon as he saw the weapon, given the suspect's VERY erratic behavior prior to the shootout. From the wikipedia entry on it: "After being captured, Brannan was asked why he killed Dinkheller. His response was, "Because he let me."" Brannan is still on death row in Georgia. Here's hoping he fries soon. |

Brannan was kidnapped by our government and forced to fight for sheltered suburbanites freedom, it ruined his life and mind. Thats much sadder than some weasel cop getting shot.
