Re: Depressed 72 Years Old Man Jumps to His Death

wow, no wonder china is such a fucked up society. i would commit suicide too if i had to live there. country should do itself a favor and nuke itself, if it's really that horrible.
I wouldn't say that, after all that's where I was born and lived til I was 12. It's fucked up yeah, but I still believe that it will get better in the future, first thing they need to do is get rid of the Communist Party!

communism is horrible! i had such high hopes when the people rose up at Tienanmen Sqaure, (i will never ever forget that day!), but nothing happened. instead of rolling forward they let themselves be squashed by the government. fear is a horrible thing to be ruled by. revolution needs to happen.

a people's revolution, beginning with freedom of the press. there's a little capitalism going on there now, it's been trickling in, but i don't see it helping at all.

No one ever thought the government would actually open fire, and for that I think there's a deep scar on the collective psyche. People get disillusioned by the government and instead turn to materialism to fill that void. One day the people of Tiananmen Square will be exonerated and remembered, one day the person/people who commanded the army to open fire will be named, and one day the victims will be named. I just hope it's in our lifetime.
The communist party itself is scared to death of the people right now, it spends more money on "stabilising the society" than on anything else. It's only a matter of time, I don't think there will be a bloodbath revolution, but a gradual awakening.

Oh there is a LOT of capitalism in China, even more than in America. It's kinda like what the west was like during the Industrial Revolution, rich got rich and the poor were disposable. The press is freer than before, but you never know when the government's gonna clamp down overnight.

when the people realize that there are more of them, then there are of the government, then the power balance will begin to change.

there is no freedom in the press as long as there is fear.

Wasn't he trying to jump into the rescuer's catching net at the end?
